Samuel E. Navon, M.D., Ph.D.
Dr. Navon received his M.D. from the University of Rochester in 1989 and also holds a Ph.D. in Biophysics for eye research from the University of California Los Angeles. His training in Ophthalmology was completed at Harvard Medical School in Boston, MA, and consisted of three years of residency, a year as Chief Resident and a fellowship in cornea and refractive surgery at the Massachusetts Eye & Ear Infirmary. Dr. Navon has published numerous textbook chapters and scientific articles in his subspecialty.
Dr. Navon has special interest and experience in small incision, no-stitch, no-needle cataract surgery, including the new lens implant surgery that can eliminate the need for glasses, corneal transplantation and medical and surgical management of corneal and external eye disease. Dr. Navon also performs Conductive Keratoplasty ® (CK), the exciting, non-laser vision procedure that reduces the need for reading glasses. Dr. Navon's newest offering is the Starr Visian Implantable Contact Lens ® (ICL), an implantable lens that offers many individuals unable to receive LASIK the opportunity to see without glasses.
Dr. Navon is Board Certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology.
